Nepal Development Research Institute (NDRI) is an independent, non-profit institution dedicated to addressing the contemporary and emerging challenges through research for evidence-based policy and programming. Established in 2004, NDRI comprises of an interdisciplinary team of experts with highest academic standings, and wealth of national and international experiences. NDRI focuses on creating opportunities for research, dialogue and collaboration. NDRI has been able to strengthen linkage between the policy makers, academia, different national and international organizations and a pool of experts. The beneficiaries of NDRI’s activities include political bodies, government institutions, national and international organizations, universities, research institutes and society at large.
NDRI’s recent research activities can be broadly categorized into four main thematic areas:
At present, NDRI has over 20 senior research specialists, 25 mid-level researchers, more than 50 associated experts, and more than 300 field staff. NDRI’s main office is located in Lalitpur, Kathmandu Valley. Shankar Shrestha, PhD (Engineering), is NDRI’s incumbent Executive Director.
